The Discovery Kids 40mm Astronomical Telescope is a total bargain coming in at less than £20, and it’ll keep youngsters entertained for hours.
Although to be fair, it’s not just the youngsters who trialled this for Total MK who were impressed - the grown-ups were too!
It’s a nice looking piece of kit that comes with easy to understand instructions (because the last thing you want to spend Crimbo doing is stressing over nuts and bolts and mechanical mysteries) and it works well.
Use outdoors for the best views of the moon and stars - and if you look at the moon when it is less than half full, the best detail in the craters and mountains can be seen.
This telescope is an all-round winner with us, and proves that affordable can still be awesome.
