Milton Keynes Council has announced Tracey Aldworth will be joining the organisation in September as its new Deputy Chief Executive, following a national recruitment process.
Tracey is currently Corporate Director at Aylesbury Vale District Council, where she has led organisational improvement to create more joined up services across the authority and overseen the progress of the new local plan for the area.
Leader of the Council Pete Marland, who led the appointment panel, said: “Tracey’s appointment was a unanimous decision by the panel. We were all impressed by her depth of knowledge and experience, and she’s very well respected in local government and across the region. We look forward to welcoming Tracey in the autumn.”
Tracey will support the council’s directors across a range of services including planning, environment and property, finance and resources, and law and governance.
She’ll work closely with Chief Executive Michael Bracey on delivering the Council Plan and developing the council’s partnerships and key strategic relationships.
Tracey said “I am very excited about this fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most ambitious and fastest growing places in UK.
"Having worked for neighbouring Aylesbury Vale for over 20 years I already know MK well but I'm really looking forward to learning a lot more and making my contribution to the high performing team at the Council, working closely with Councillors and the local community to deliver the vision for this unique place.”
The appointment follows a major restructure of the council’s former leadership team earlier in 2019 which saved £340,000.
