Willen Hospice is calling on local people to take on their ‘Nice Bucket Challenge’ as part of an appeal to help them to care for more people living with life-limiting illnesses in and around Milton Keynes.
The hospice launched the challenge this week, inviting local businesses, community groups or individuals to pledge to raise £100 or £200 in their Nice Bucket by the end of March.
The initiative is part of the charity’s ‘Hearts in Our Community’ appeal which aims to raise money that can help their specialist community nursing team to support more patients and their families in their own homes - where and when they need it most.
Sarah Sweet-Rowley, associate director of community development, said: “We are really excited to launch the Nice Bucket Challenge.
"It’s a great way for local people to get involved with our appeal. Anyone can take part, whether it’s simply collecting small change, using it as a swear box in the office, collecting tips or asking people to donate to dress down for the day.
"We’re looking forward to hearing all the fun and fabulous ideas our supporters come up with to fill their buckets”
To take on the Nice Bucket Challenge, call 01908 303071 or email communityfundraising@willen-hospice.org.uk
As an alternative to the Nice Bucket Challenge, supporters can donate just £5 to the appeal by texting ‘SWAN05 £5’ to 70070.
Donations can also be made here where there are a number of other ways to support the appeal.
