YOUNG DANCER WINS PLACE ON COVETED COURSE

City girl Jess Yeo loves to dance and is pirouetting her way further into the industry after gaining a spot on an elite dance training programme. The 11-year-old youngster boasts a place on the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) course at The London Contemporary Dance School. The scheme offers aspiring dancers the chance to engage in selective, non-residential, dance training and Jess’ fancy footwork sees her travel from her Wolverton home to London each Saturday for tuition. The CAT scheme provides classes in ballet, contemporary and creative dance, delivered by leading international artists, choreographers and dancers. During the week, Jess is a student at The Radcliffe School but when she is not studying she is dancing. Alongside these special Saturday coaching sessions in the capital she trains locally four nights a week. Her passion for dance is truly ignited and her mum, Jane Yeo, is now seeking further support to finance the extra training. Jane said: “Jess fully appreciates how lucky she is to have such opportunities and works very hard to make the most of each and every learning opportunity. We are now looking for help with the funding of her training. We are applying to the Fund for Excellence at the CAT scheme and also looking to local sources of generosity and sponsorship. Any amount of support would be gratefully received.” Jess Yeo 1 The Little Witch, Marie Forbes/Sophie Nüzel Jess is a pupil at The Rosemary Lane School of Ballet and Theatre Dance at King’s Community Centre, Wolverton, where she attends ballet, jazz and contemporary classes.
