CARABOSSE DELIVER WORLD-PREMIERE OF GORMENGHAST
More than fifty years since the last book in the Gormenghast trilogy was published, and Milton Keynes' theatre company Carabosse will bring Mervyn Peake's work to the stage this coming week.
The fantastical saga centres on a doomed lord, an emergent hero, and a dazzling array of bizarrre creatures, all set around a vast castle.
Earl Titus Groan is set to inherit the rambling stones and mortar that forms Gormenghast Castle and kingdom.
But conniving Steerpike has other ideas, and intends to rise from his menial position to control the House of Groan...
When Carabosse's talent and forward-thinking ways are applied to the work of an equally clever, innovative writer, the end result looks more than promising.
