Secrets, Scandals and Gossip - and a Royal visit to Milton Keynes

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be at the court of Henry VIII, George III or George IV, now you can find out, as the past is brought forward to the present day, this September, with The Third Age Players production of Secrets, Scandals and Gossip.

The scene is set.  Henry VIII is looking for a sixth (and as we know it turns out, his final) wife. However, Catherine Parr is less than enthusiastic at the prospect of marrying this leering old fart, not least of all because she’s already in love with Sir Thomas Seymour. What does she have to do to avoid the chopping block?

A tad later on – a couple of centuries later, in fact - King George III is fed up with constantly shoring up the finances of his spoilt son, Prince George IV. The Prince comes up with a plan to marry into money (even though, arguably, he is already married), but when Princess Caroline of Brunswick arrives in England, things do not go to plan...

Join the drama and merriment at the Royal Court (you would never know it’s Wavendon Community Centre) on Friday, September 6 (7pm) and Saturday, September 7 (3pm).
