Zog bumps, burns and roars into Milton Keynes Theatre

Every day in every way he’s getting better and better - or at least he’s trying to.

Large in size and keen in nature Zog is trying so hard to be the best possible dragon he can be so that he can win a gold star.

It’s just that, sometimes, things have a habit of getting in the way. Like a tree. Or a sore throat. Or the flames that arise when you’re learning to breathe fire.

But help is at hand in the shape of a princess who would actually rather be a doctor.

Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s children’s classic, Freckle Productions and Rose Theatre, Kingston, make sure that the end of the summer holidays are going to be just as much fun as those far off days when the schools broke up.

And, without it being ‘preachy’, Zog is a touching lesson in acceptance, kindness and courage.

With live music played by the talented cast - who are also expert puppeteers - colourful matching puppet/actor costumes, a set design that effortlessly lifts the story from page to stage and the introduction of a couple of cheeky rabbits, Zog is a roaring success for the very littlest members of the family - and their grown-ups.

Zog comes to Milton Keynes Theatre from Thursday (August 29) for three days.
