In March 2018 Bradwell Silver Band competed in the Regional Brass Band contest in Stevenage.
For the first time in its 117 year history they came first at this contest becoming Regional Champions, and as a result will represent the region at the National Brass Band Championship Finals held at The Centaur, Cheltenham on Saturday (September 15).
With the help of an anonymous donor the band has secured a coach to carry the instruments, players and supporting friends and family to the event in fine style.
A spokesman for the band said: "This charitable person has our heartfelt thanks as without this support our little community band would have struggled to raise the necessary funds."
The competition will see 18 bands from across the UK compete for trophy, prize money and most importantly the prestige of being the 4th Section National Champion Band.
The band has been working hard under musical director Brian Keech to create a performance to be proud of, and the possibility of creating more history.
