COMEDY: NISH KUMAR BRINGS HIS NEW SHOW TO TOWN

After the massive sell out success at last year’s Edinburgh Festival of his critically acclaimed fourth solo show, Ruminations on the Nature of Subjectivity, Nish Kumar is back on the road with the spanking new show ‘Long Word… Long Word… Blah Blah Blah… I’m So Clever,' and he brings the funnies to the Keynes on Sunday (Nov 1).

In the new show Nish asks – does comedy need to be politically neutral? Why is comedy leaning to the left and is that even a problem?

He examines the changing political landscape and how as we've become more liberal in our outlook on social issues, we've become increasingly conservative economically.

He looks at a world in which a black James Bond seems achievable, but at the same time our financial system seems to be based entirely on the game Monopoly.

And he asks whether the left is worse at branding its ideas than Islamic fundamentalists.

His CV is bursting with cool supports, opportunities taken and audiences won over.

In recent times he has worked as a writer for The Kumars, appeared on the small screen in many deliveries which include The Alternative Comedy Experience, curated by Stewart Lee and The John Bishop Show on the Beeb, and toured India with the Melbourne International Comedy Roadshow.

He found the time to support Total MK favourite Milton Jones too.

'Urgent to communicate, unapologetically intelligent and technically impressive...a masterclass in comedy...politically engaged, passionate and playful...' the reviews are united in praise.

Nish will be live at The Cannon in Newport Pagnell under the That Time of the Month comedy banner, and tickets to see the man wax lyrical are £8 in advance, a tenner on the doors.

Advance booking is cheaper and a safer bet if you want to avoid the disappointment of a full house.
