You might have spent the past few weeks ignoring the waft of cinnamon spice in stores, plugging your lugs to keep out festive tunes and flicking the remote away from those oh-so-annoying advertisements, but Christmas it is a-comin'.
And as we roll towards December the best side of the festivities unwrap and raise smiles, and few do it as well as MK Museum which has Santa in situ this Friday, Saturday & Sunday (Dec 4, 5 & 6).
The history hub will have chestnuts roasting in a blacksmith’s forge, yuletide carols around the fire, and no doubt, tiny tots with their eyes all aglow as it turns back the clock for a Yuletide of Victorian values.
‘From the moment you are greeeted by our butler with a tray of mulled wine and hot squash, through to meeting Santa in the cosy glow of his toy workshop, you’ll feel the Christmas spirit in every fibre,” promise those behind the traditional event.
Queen Victoria will be enjoying the event too, so be ready with your best curtsey in case you come face to face with Her Majesty.
The old schoolroom will be offering Christmas crafts, and for a real and true rolling picture of the way we were, check in at the chapel, which will be showing fascinating film footage of Christmas' past.
Feeling peckish? Then follow the twinkling lights to the farmhouse kitchen where hot buttered toast will be made the old-fashioned way, and if you desire something a little sweeter, the Granary Cafe is ready and waiting with homemade cakes, mince pies and warming hot chocolate.
Christmas shouldn't be about pressure and worry, it should be about coming together and enjoying yourselves, and sipping on mulled wine while your kids play puff billiards in the snug of the old farmhouse is a perfect way.
There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy too, with the Christmas event rolling out every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through to December 20.
