Thousands of people across Milton Keynes turned out for last weekend's Heritage Open Days last weekend - and there is still plenty more to come.
Last week, in excess of 50 free events were laid on across the new city.
Key attractions opening their doors for free included Milton Keynes Museum, Bletchley Park, Bradwell Windmill, Cowper and Newton Museum, plus lots of places not normally open to the public - including MK Stadium and churches across the area.
Exhibitions drew on MK's extraordinary women, including 'Women who made MK' by the Fawcett Society Milton Keynes Group at MK Central Library, and more.
A big medieval family day at Bradwell Abbey proved as much fun for children as it did for adults, and Festive Road in Kiln Farm proved t hat scrap can be treasure!
Food figured too; With a World War 2 wartime cafe operating out of the MK Community Fridge in Wolverton.
This weekend, more than 30 events and open days are taking place, including a family dance workshop at York House in Stony Stratford, Blazing Saddles by the Bicycle Ballet Company near Willen Lake, Claydon House, The Old Gaol in Buckingham, lots of guided walks, the ROCLA Art Trail and loads more.
When the Heritage Open Days launched in 2006, there were 15 events across the city, which attracted just over 500 people. Since then, the event has exploded with events and visitor numbers soaring.
Mel Jeavons, general manager with the Living Archive, said: "This is the first year we've held events over two weekends. We're really looking forward to building on the success of last weekend, with lots more free open days and events this weekend across Milton Keynes and beyond."
