On Sunday (January 22) the Friends of St Lawrence invite you to wrap up warm and head down to St Lawrence, Broughton, for a 'Winter Warmer' - an open church event as part of the MK50 celebrations.
The church will be open between 11am and 1pm and you can warm up with hot chocolate, mulled fruit punch, bakes and hot chestnuts and find out what was happening in this part of Milton Keynes when the new city was designated in 1967 and for centuries before.
Only five minutes from Central Milton Keynes, St Lawrence has been at the heart of the community for nearly 700 years and continues to be to this day, with the help of the Churches Conservation Trust and the Friends of St Lawrence.
Tours at 11.20am and 12.10pm will tell you more about the stunning medieval wall paintings and there is an activity for children of all ages.
