Lace up your trainers, rally your girlfriends and join hundreds of women at South Willen Lake on Sunday, July 5 for the 2015 Women’s Running 5k and 10k Race Series, in association with This Girl Can.
Hosting two races, 5k and 10k, the event welcomes women and girls of all abilities to run together at Willen Lake, rich in beautiful scenery and wildlife. Filled with mothers, daughters, colleagues and friends, a fun and supportive environment is promised for all participants to achieve their personal fitness goals. Whether you’re looking for your first running event or you’re a seasoned runner hunting down a new Personal Best finish time, this race is a must for the diary.
With picnic spots by the lake, it’s a great location to bring your family to cheer you along and enjoy a fun day out in Milton Keynes. 2014 race finisher, Kelly Dolli, was overwhelmed by the atmosphere: “The cheers at the end were awesome, the atmosphere was great and everyone was having a laugh.”
The 2015 Women’s Running Race Series is proud to partner with the nationwide initiative, This Girl Can and looks forward to welcoming hundreds of newcomers to the running community on race day. Girls aged 12 years and over can take part in the 5k race, while the 10k race asks for participants to be aged 16 plus.
Race Director, David Castle, says: “Our runners take part in the races for so many different reasons, whether it's for charity or for fitness, we celebrate every single one of them. The atmosphere on the day is always amazing. Whether you're first or last across the line, it doesn't matter; what matters is that you've joined a group of like-minded women united in their love for the sport of running. We’ll see you on the start line!”
All entrants will receive a free goody bag, filled with quality kit and nutritional goods and finishers will receive an event t-shirt and race medal. Entries are filling fast, secure your spot today. Race entries start at £21.00 www.womensrunninguk.com/wr10k-2015
