SCI-FI FILM SPECIAL: STATION X AT BLETCHLEY PARK
Sci-fi lovers will be in another world on Saturday (Nov 8) with a whole day dedicated to the genre taking place at Bletchley Park.
Cunningly titled Station X at Bletchley Park, the rescheduled event promises to bring cinema audiences 'an inspiring, family friendly day of Sci-fi with immersive screening and fun for all ages, complete with moon buggies, crashed spaceship site and Sci-fi soundscapes.
Films will air at various sites around the park throughout the day, and on-screen action will include Thunderbirds Are Go, Forbidden Planet, X The Unknown, 1984, The Day The Earth Caught Fire, Things To Come and Invasion of the Bodysnatchers (below).
A special pre-release Q&A preview of Monsters: Dark Continent will take place with director Tom Green, and a live score presentation by musicians John Sweeney and Jeff Davenport will accompany the Russian classic Cosmic Voyage.
Dr Who fans needn't worry about missing Saturday's season finale either - in something of a scoop, it has been announced that the episode will air live at Bletchley Park.
All you need do is 'bring your hats, scarves and coats to join in the Station X live transmission of the season finale," say those behind the event.
