Taiko Meantime bring their epic musical journey to Milton Keynes

Buckinghamshire's Mark Alcock and his group, top UK Taiko drumming ensemble Taiko Meantime return to the Stables with their new show 'Resonance' on Friday (November 23).

Through powerful Japanese Taiko drums, exquisite flutes, sizzling percussion and dynamic movement, Taiko Meantime bring an epic musical journey to the stage.

'Resonance' explores the concept of resonance through Japanese Taiko: the vibrations of one instrument affecting another; the exuberance of a single player energising the whole group, and the force of many performers together shaking the audience physically and emotionally!

The production is visual and musical elements are ravishing and fearsome, beautiful and fun.

With new repertoire ranging from delicate composition to explosive crowd-pleasing barnstormers, this show promises to be a feast for the ears, eyes and internal organs!

Buckinghamshire’s Mark Alcock, who studied Taiko in Japan and has been a front-man of Taiko Meantime for 18 years said: “Resonance is an amazing spectacle. I'm so proud and excited to be bringing a new Taiko show to my home county with enticing new pieces.

“We want to take the audience on a musical journey with twists and turns, light and shade but above all, lots of fun along the way! We're really excited to be returning to the Stables, having sold it out in 2016."
