It’s Tech or Treat starting this weekend at the Autumn Bytes family festival at The National Museum of Computing on Bletchley Park.
It all begins on Sunday (October 23) when visitors can travel back in time to get a feel for what it was like during the Second World War when Colossus was secretly breaking enemy codes.
Visitors can learn about spy technologies and watch the TNMOC team make contact with the French resistance using World War II technology.
Can they battle modern communications to make contact with the French Resistance Museum in Vassieux-en-Vercors, France using original Y-service equipment.
See what it was like in the Home Guard, the Second World war local defence volunteers, and even dress up in 1940’s period clothing.
There will also be, weather permitting, a parade of 1940’s military vehicles including a vintage jeep, warden car and Second World War army trucks,
The following week brings lots more activities including the launch of the latest in Museum visitor technology, Gamar, a chance to learn from an expert in a masterclass how to produce art on modern tablets, create computer music on Arduinos, see space rocks in 3D close-up and hear scary digital stories from Tom the Tale teller.
