Milton Keynes residents are being encouraged to attend Milton Keynes: A Journey to 2050, a fascinating four-day exhibition which explores future plans for the place we call home.
Speakers at last night's launch event included Lynette Ryals OBE, chief executive at MK:U, Geoff Snelson, director of strategy and futures at Milton Keynes Council and council leader Cllr Pete Marland.
Key parts of the exhibition include the opportunity to see the shortlisted designs for MK:U, the new model University, the story of how Milton Keynes will grow to a population of half a million people by 2050, and information about new residential, leisure and retail developments coming to the area.
There are also demonstrations of our famous little delivery robots, and the opportunity to learn more about the electric cars and bikes in our midst.
Back in 2016, the MK Futures Commission recognised the vast opportunities for the city to build on its extensive lists of strengths; its strategic geographical location, diverse population, high-performing economy, unique character and innovative forward thinking attitude.
The Commission recommended Six Big Projects to capitalise upon these opportunities, to help make our great city greater.
A spokesman for Milton Keynes Council said: “We want to share our progress with everyone in MK at our exhibition where you can explore how are moving forward with our plans for the future of Milton Keynes.”
The exhibition runs through to Sunday.
