NEW RELEASE: New Living Archive book captures 'The People' Stories' in Milton Keynes

Tales of the unexpected are featured in a new book that has been issued by the Living Archive.

Inspired by the MK50 celebrations in January 2017, they decided to capture local memories, and recorded the memories of more than 50 people who call the new town home.
Milton Keynes: The People's Stories spans the history of our forward thinking, but sometimes misunderstood home.

The book features interviews with people who were here before 'the new city' was even a reality. It talks to residents who were already in situ when this beast of a new build began to take form, and it talks to those who have been attracted to Milton Keynes by the opportunities afforded here.

Its 10 chapters cover the building of the town to the building of its community.
A special nod is given to our transport system - the grid systems, the famous roundabouts and our smart redway systems.

Art and performance, music and sport also finds space in the intriguing read.

You'll learn about the builder who delivered the concrete for the concrete cows, the stilt-walker who ended up in trouble for appearing in the red balloon advert, and many more extraordinary stories.

Milton Keynes: The People's Stories, edited by Anouska Lester, is on sale now for £7 (+ P&P).
