Review by Jason Day

Is it me or are motion pictures getting shorter these days?

I'm not expecting 'DeMillian' epics every week, for we all need to sit comfortably watching movies without our bladders being inconvenienced, but this brisk and spartan film weighs in at only 86 minutes.

It could actually have been even shorter if writer Anthony Jaswinski had the courage to chop out some of the pointless background chat that the soon-to-be-stricken surf dudette engages in during the film's opening. But at least we get to know her mission before the big, bad Great White shark starts nibbling at her rocking FHM physique.

That physique is pummelled as much as the audience during this lean and frequently very scary horror movie, which presents the shark as a foe equally deserving of our respect and admiration. Prepare to grip your seat and peep through your fingers - this gives Jaws a welcome run for its money.
