Lesley Garrett to perform with Polymnia Choir in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes Chamber choir Polymnia are delighted to welcome back international soprano Lesley Garrett CBE to sing with them in their Summertime concert on June 8 at The Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

Lesley first performed with the choir in 2016 at the choir’s 10th anniversary gala concert and has been keen to return after agreeing to be their patron.

In a highly eclectic programme, Lesley and the choir will sing separately and together in popular music from the Classical, Folk, Sacred and Show Tunes genres. From Bach to Billy Joel via Schubert, Vaughan Williams and Sting, there is something to delight everyone. They will be accompanied on the piano by Anna Tilbrook.

Lesley said: “After our very successful concert in 2016, I’m so excited to be returning to sing with Milton Keynes Polymnia Choir, especially as we are performing once again in the beautiful Christ the Cornerstone Church.

"When singing without amplification it is vital to have a good acoustic, and Christ the Cornerstone never disappoints. I’m also thrilled with our Summertime Theme this year!

"Anna and I spent a chilly April afternoon, with the rain pouring down outside, thinking of songs about sunshine and flowers! I hope you will enjoy the finished result as much as we enjoyed planning it! Have fun, we will!"

It's a busy time for Polymnia, having performed in the St Vitus Cathedral in Prague last year, in August they travel to Edinburgh to perform 3 concerts in the Fringe.

Limited tickets are still available for Summertime here
