One-time King Prawn-er Babar Luck brings the noise to Bedford Esquires

One time King Prawn bassman Babar Luck comes to Bedford Esquires on Saturday (Sept 22).

Babar was born in Pakistan and came to the UK as an eight year old.  He was raised by a single mother of devout Muslim faith and educated principles.

He fell in love with all forms of music from his teenage years. Growing up in a poor working class area Canning Town, East London, he chose to mix with and was taken under the wing of Africans, Jamaicans and white working class communities and traveller communities.

Babar was the bassist songwriter/shouter in the  alternative/punk players King Prawn for a decade.  They were a big hit on the circuit, not least in Milton Keynes where they enjoyed a special fan base.

Since peeling away from the Prawn, Babar has established himself as solo artist, issuing 16 albums in a variety of guises.

He has a wonderful folk band called The Babar Luck World Citizen Folk Band, who will begin work on their third album imminently, and his punk/rock band Eastendtrinity will wrap up work on their fourth album shortly.

The common theme throughout his music is compassion,  forgiveness and love for all humanity.

"My live shows are an acid trip without the acid and the aim is to aim for the heart and to edutain inspire and invigorate," says Babar.

Catch him at Holy Moly's Bedford Esquires.  Tickets are £8.50 in advance here
