Record Store Day 2017: Northampton gets in a spin!

Northampton’s longstanding independent Record Shop Spun Out will be celebrating the 10th international Record Store Day on Saturday (April 22).

The day has been organised to highlight the importance of independent Record Shops to local high streets and has a massive backing from the whole music industry.

Limited vinyl and & CDs released on the day will include works by A-list artists including Pink Floyd, Madonna, The Cure, Placebo, Prince & David Bowie, many of which are on highly collectible picture discs & coloured vinyl.

It is also a chance for music lovers to investigate new up and coming bands who release their records especially for this day.

The demand for these limited items far exceeds the numbers available - and record shops everywhere are preparing for big queues of vinyl fans early on Saturday morning waiting to get particular rarities.

At family run Spun Out (57 Gold Street, Northampton NN1 1RA) the store - which will open at 8am - is hosting a mini music festival day with giveaways and live music from local band Chapel Fox.

DJ sets from spinners including Kev Palmer, Swiss Vince & Clarky will deliver everything from Northern Soul through to Reggae!
