SLEAFORD MODS: FROM SKIP RATS TO TOP CATS

You never know what's around the corner do you?  Take Sleaford Mods for example.

The duo were hardly golden boys around their home town of Nottingham, where they had been labelled as 'two skip rats with a laptop.'

But these days they are the buzz band that everyone wants a piece of.

They made it into plenty of critics 'end' of year' choices, and their 2014 album Divide and Exit proved that the duo – Andre Fearn and Jason Williamson – are as spiky as they've ever been.

Don't tag the Mods or you'll be limiting yourself, says their press sheet, which then dares to say 'the down to earth observations and story-telling of Ian Dury or Patrick Fitzgerald are maybe closer than any other names thrown about in desperation...'

Of course the best way to check 'em out is in the live – and you've not long to wait for the opportunity – the boys will be bringing the beats, loops and savage side-swipes to The Craufurd Arms this Friday (March 13) evening.

Support is coming from The Wholls and Circuit Breaker, doors from 7.30pm.
