Winter Wilson return to Milton Keynes next week

Anyone who saw Fairport Convention's Winter tour concert at the Stables in Wavenden this year will be delighted to hear that opening act Winter Wilson are set to return to the venue next Wednesday (September 19)

Kip and Dave have repeatedly toured the length and breadth of the UK, plus Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands. Early 2017 saw their first tour of Australia and New Zealand, so successful that a return trip is already in the pipeline for 2019.

Then the couple was invited to join folk-rock legends Fairport Convention on their 2018 UK Winter tour, playing twenty-nine gigs across the country in just thirty-two days.

“The whole tour was a complete blast,” Kip told us. “We covered a lot of miles, and had only three nights off in almost five weeks, but what a thrill to play on stage with such amazing musicians!

"We played to sell-out crowds in some of the country’s great music venues, including the Union Chapel in London and the Leeds City Varieties, home of the Good Old Days.

"Most of the audiences had never seen us before, so it's been wonderful to have so many of them turn up at our own gigs since then."

And, as if all of this wasn't enough, the pair were then invited to join Fairport on stage at their Cropredy Convention festival earlier this year.

"We're still buzzing from that one,"  Kip added. "I can't say we weren't terrified, but to get such a great reception from a crowd of over fifteen thousand was an amazing experience, and certainly one we hope to repeat!"

Winter Wilson recently released their eighth studio album, Far Off on the Horizon, and the multi-instrumentalists will be back at The Stables in Wavendon next Wednesday (September 19).  Click here to book.

Tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door.
