Beer Bear to host craft beer festival in Stony Stratford this weekend

On Saturday Beer Bear and York House are collaborating to bring a true craft beer festival to Milton Keynes.

Between 12pm and 10pm, the York House Community Centre will play host to craft beer and real ale, street food and music.

This year’s spring festival, previously organised by MK Biergarten, will present the best of the local and national brewing innovation in differently themed rooms all around York House.

Modelled on other big craft beer festivals, breweries will have their own stalls at which they’ll be serving special releases and old favourites. Real ale and craft beer will be featured side by side.

The festival will showcase seven breweries, which will bring a range of beers each: Tap Social from Oxford, Twisted Barrel from Coventry; Three Hills, Black Pit and Boot Town from the Northampton area, as well as Milton Keynes’ own Concrete Cow Brewery and Blackened Sun, the region’s newest addition.

All breweries will serve their own beer, which will give customers the opportunity to chat to the brewers and find out more about their artisan production.

Franzi Florack, the manager of Beer Bear says: "We have got an incredible wealth of craft beer breweries in the area and there are very few opportunities for the people from Milton Keynes to find out more about them.

"Our beer can easily rival other breweries from London and beyond; let’s show the brewers our support and support local!"

Since opening in spring 2017 on the Stony Stratford High Street, Beer Bear has been an advocate of independent craft beer as well as established local breweries and hopes to reach out to even more customers through this extensive one day event," she added.

Street food will be provided by Good Times Cafe and Bandit Street Food and in the evening, MK’s best brass band, The Huffandpuffers, will once more entertain crowds at York House.

Entry to Saturday's event is £10 and includes a commemorative glass and two half pints. Children are welcome until 8pm. Reduced tickets can be purchased for £8 directly from Beer Bear.

A limited range of cider and wine as well as non-alcoholic drinks will be on sale for non-beer drinkers.
