Labour Councillor encourages Police to take stronger action on antisocial behaviour

A Labour Councillor is encouraging Police to take action on substance misuse in Milton Keynes’ car parks.

Labour Councillor for Loughton, Zoe Nolan is concerned about antisocial behaviour in her own ward and has reported it to MK Council and the Police.

Cllr Nolan said: “We are seeing evidence of this antisocial behaviour all over our city, particularly in car parks where people park to use our open spaces, like Lodge Lake in my ward. This is a significant issue and I’d like to see the Police to take stronger action on this antisocial behaviour.”

Cllr Nolan is also working with the Council’s substance misuse services to see what other action can be taken to reduce the antisocial behaviour and keep residents safe. The Labour-led Council has allocated funding of £50,000 for mobile CCTV to disrupt antisocial behaviour in MK.

Zoe added: “I am working with the Council to see what measures can be put in place, such as using mobile CCTV to discourage drug use in these areas, but it’s also vital that the Police take strong action on this kind of antisocial behaviour. I hope members of the public will make Police aware on the non-emergency 101 number if they see this happening.
