Milton Keynes animal activists shine spotlight on vivisection

Milton Keynes Animal Rights Activists came together on Saturday to bring vivisection back into the public eye.

They spent several hours sharing footage from laboratories with shoppers in Central Milton Keynes, and educated the public on university testing, charities that fund animal testing, and the many alternatives that are now available.

"The public are mostly unaware that most tests conducted on animals are unnecessary and of no benefit to humans," said activist Cheryl Smith.

"A mouse is not a tiny human and therefore the results rarely translate into human medicine. It is ethically and morally wrong to subject these animals to torture and untimely death."
