My Christmas: Milton Keynes panto star Phil Corbitt gets seasonal with Total MK

It’s fair to say that Phil Corbitt hasn’t been well received in panto at Milton Keynes Theatre - but that’s only because he is starring as the baddie Abanazar!

He’s much more pleasant off the stage. It’s Christmas Day (Merry Christmas everyone!) and this is how Phil will be spending his day…

What’s the one gift you would love to find in your Christmas stocking this morning - and why?
Socks, because even though I have pairs, I always end up with odd ones. Plus my sons nick them!

What is the most bizarre gift you’ve received?
TWO whole days off from panto. I’m not used to that!

What’s the most stressful part of Christmas for you?
Getting home and away again, but I love the day itself.

You are in the middle of a busy season - how will you relax today?
I get up whenever my six year old daughter gets up. Check the reindeer have eaten the carrot left of the doorstep, then check that Santa has had his crate of Stella (tee tee tee), and then presents, music, food, games, telly, the usual.

Early night though, because I’ll be up at 4am to drive to MK from Newcastle.

What are the television essentials - what will you be watching, and why?
Alastair Sim’s Scrooge. The best version of A Christmas Carol ever. And Elf.

Also any carol service because I won’t get to one and I love carols.

Christmas pudding: A must-do or a must-avoid?
A must.

Brussel sprouts, or no brussel sprouts?
Yes. I eat everyone else’s who doesn’t like them. Bring them on!

Do you have a preferred Christmas carol, or pop tune?
In the Bleak Midwinter. Coventry Carol. Garland…I love the sad ones!

Now tell us why we need to come and see Aladdin. What makes this production a must-see?
Well, humbly and modestly I have to say, ‘cos I’m in it!”

Aladdin continues at MK Theatre until January 12, 2020. To book tickets click here
