Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society present The Gondoliers

Be transported to 18th century Venice and ‘take a pair of sparkling eyes’ as you meet the handsome brothers, Marco and Giuseppe Palmieri, gondoliers extraordinaire.

Our feckless pair have just married their pretty girlfriends, Gianetta and Tessa. However, their happy-ever-after is interrupted by the news that one (and only one) of the two men is of royal birth and is due to take up his role as King of Barataria at once.

No-one knows who is the rightful heir, so they are both transported to their new kingdom to await the fateful decision. Which one shall be crowned? And who will be his queen?
Some of the finest music and funniest characters in G&S will guide you to the hilarious conclusion.

Performed by local group, Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society, the show is gloriously staged in colourful traditional costume with a full orchestra and a big chorus.

The show runs from Wednesday, March 21 to Saturday, March 24 at 7.30pm at Stantonbury Theatre.

Tickets are available here priced £16 for adults, £13 for full time students, unwaged and anyone aged 60 or over, and children (under 14s) £5.

Buy ten tickets or more, you get one extra ticket free - so come on, grab everyone together for a night out!
