One of the biggest events on the karting calendar, the British Rental Kart Championship, is coming back to Milton Keynes’ Formula Fast from today; with up to a £1000 cash prize up for grabs.
After proving a huge success in previous years, this is now the sixth edition of the championship at Formula Fast, who are renowned for putting on a professional event with superb kart parity.
Starting today (January 18) and running through to Sunday, hundreds of karting enthusiasts from around the world will visit MK’s biggest indoor motorsport destination to compete for their chance to win the cash prize, plus seeded entry to the Kart World Championship.
Over three days of fast and furious action with hundreds of gallons of petrol being burned, the top ten racers with the highest points total over the weekend will contest the Grand Final on Sunday.
A 30 minute battle for the podium places will reveal the top three racers who will automatically get free entry into the Kart World Championship as part of Team GB.
Recently confirmed double world champion Ruben Boutens has signed up for this year’s championship. Since the inception of BRKC in 2010, only two drivers have won the championship more than once.
Lee Hackett was triumphant in 2012 & 2013 during the ‘multi-round’ incarnation of BRKC. Since 2014, Dutchman Ruben Boutens has claimed a stunning five titles despite coming under ever-increasing pressure from a star-studded entry list.
The battle between some of motorsport’s biggest names will be fascinating to watch when BRKC 2019 gets started on the 18 of January. The event is broadcast live via Youtuve with a full camera crew in attendance and live commentary throughout.
