WHEN SHOPPING IS FUN: HANDMADE AND VINTAGE RETURNS THIS WEEKEND...

Now, you won't get raindrops (although you might get the roses) and you wont get whiskers on kittens (they don't sell animals, because they are far too responsible for that), but there is every chance that you will find bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens...and brown paper packages tied up with string, at this weekend's Handmade & Vintage Weekend Extravaganza.

The hugely popular event is back for a two-day stay at Middleton Hall this Saturday and Sunday (Feb 28 & March 1), bringing with it all manner of cool, collectible and unique goods.

From re-purposed kilts to luxury handmade quilts and bespoke fashion to beautiful collectible handmade bears, this is the bash that will sort you out - want a truly unique piece of jewellery?  A mannequin, perhaps?  How about some handcrafted luggage?  Or some cool kitchenalia?

From pottery to haberdashery and sweet makers, this bustling shopper's playground is the perfect way to colour up your abode, and you are guaranteed to return home triumphant after a right good old rummage!

So much shopping might leave you a little hot and bothered, but organisers have sorted that too - new this time is their own ice cream bar - home made luxury ice cream with a twist...go steady though; you need to leave room for a little something from the brownie stall too!

"Our visitors enjoy an excitingly different shopping experience in the centre of Milton Keynes," said organiser Jacqui Lewis.

"We are well known for high standards and our carefully selected mix of exhibitors, who are passionate about what they do."

Whatever 'it' is, if you can't find it here among the 120 stalls, it's barely worth the bother.

Admission is free, and shopping times are the same as thecentre:mk weekend opening hours: Saturday (9am-7pm)  and Sunday (10.30am-5pm).
