Enjoy tales of a biking birder with the RSPB in Milton Keynes

The next indoor meeting of the North Bucks branch of the RSPB  will take place on Thursday (March 14), when the group will be visited by Gary Prescott.

Gary will be delivering with his presentation Adventures of a ‘biking birder.'

Seeing 300 different species in the UK in one year is a target that many birders dream of.

Doing so while cycling 7000 miles from Lands End to Shetland and challenging for the European record takes a special type of birder - a 'Green Birder'.

Gary Prescot will tell the assembled about his birding adventures in the UK and further afield, his fund-raising for RSPB, WWT and BirdLife, and about the wider Green Birding movement.

Gary reckons he is the only person to have been to EVERY RSPB & WWT nature reserve in the UK. He cycled to them all in 2010 and then he did it all over again in 2015!

In 2016 Gary cycled over 9,000 miles around Britain seeing 317 different bird species. He is the British, the European and the World Green Birding Champion and has just returned from a seven month Green Birding adventure in Peru.

The indoor meeting will take place at The Cruck Barn, City Discovery Centre, Bradwell Abbey MK13 9AP. Doors open at 7.15 pm for a prompt start at 7.45 pm.

Free coffee and tea are provided during the interval.

RSPB North Bucks Group members £3, all visitors welcome £4 and children £1.
