THE BIG OUTDOOR SHOW TO WOW WILLEN LAKE THIS WEEKEND

Fancy a little adventure this Bank Holiday weekend?

You don't have to go far for your fill - a trip to Willen Lake will reward you with all sorts of opportunities.

Milton Keynes Big Outdoor Show - running for three days from Saturday (May 23 - 25) - is a feast of adventure and entertainment for outdoor enthusiasts and families, with a suitably packed schedule with something for everyone.

"They can either be inspired to try new pursuits, or learn more about skills such as survival training and polar expeditions in our exciting, accompanying seminar programme," said organiser Pauline Gibson.

That full seminar programme will operate daily, with survival training experts, explorers and tour operators talking about their passions.

Felicity Aston will explain about her polar expeditions and Mark Wood will take you through his extreme global expeditions, while survival training expert John Sullivan will invite visitors to 'feed the rat' and find the courage to live their dreams.

What passion will he stir in you?

Ellie Bedford will be joined by her Newfoundland Dogs as the magnificent animals demonstrate their ace abilities in water with rescue sessions.

Also, on Monday only, Sir Ranulph Fiennes will reflect on his many expeditions, and what it is that keeps him going back for more.

The main display area will offer demos - four times a day - from the Action Sports Tour team, and there will be madcap stunts courtesy of the M.A.D mountain bike display team.

For something all-together softer, step up for a close encounter with some of the exotic animals who will be around all weekend.  Beautiful foxes, raccoons, snakes and reptiles will all figure.

We have it on good authority that meercats will be popping up all over the place too!

There will be taster sessions in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing, courtesy of Willen Lake Watersports, Para motoring displays and all terrain boarding demos.

Toddlers will love the strider balance bike test-drive, and other family fun ready and waiting includes a climbing wall, snake pit challenge, face painting, free-fall stunt jumping and the chance to 'have a go' with the Action Sports Tour.

Looking for new equipment?  Roll up, roll up then - more than 70 stands will be showcasing the latest outdoor products and gadgets.

It's going to be a good 'un.
