THE WOBURN COUNTRY FAIR RETURNS THIS WEEKEND

The Woburn Country Fair will bring the countryside around the Abbey to life this weekend, at the second annual event. Two arenas will wow visitors, with daring dog displays, falconry shows and the mounted games association in the larger space, while the smaller arena has sheepdog displays among its attractions. The Falconry Village and Arena will be busy with an array of native and exotic Birds of Pray, while the Craft Village - housed in a series of marquees - will have nationally selected artists, designers and craftsmen showing their capabilities and selling their wares. From Beekeeping to coppice crafts...there will be plenty to see, and Milton Keynes Society of Artists will be exhibiting their wares too, like the picture below, titled Watchful Eyes. WatchfulEyes The Food Halls will take attentions with their demonstrations, and then when hunger kicks in - as it inevitably will - you can sate your appetite at one of more than 30 retailers dishing up delights for you. Canine fans will want to take a little walkies of their own - to the World of Dogs.  Remember to take Rover with you to the event with you - there will be competitions for the family pet to take part in. The Country Fair is open this Saturday and Sunday (June 7 and 8) between 10am and 6pm. Tickets will be £12 for adults, £4 for children aged five to 15 on the gates, a little cheaper in advance.
