Local artist Chris Richbell is returning to the Three Hares Gallery - at The Cowper and Newton Museum in Olney - with an exhibition of her latest works.
Chris is a member and regular exhibitor with the Northampton Town and County Art Society and serves on their Council. She paints mainly in watercolour or acrylic, and sometimes with mixed media or pastels.
She is part of a group of painters from all over the country that annually enjoy painting together in Walberswick on the Suffolk coast. Painting outside, whatever the weather, brings a whole new meaning to watercolour! She also regularly goes to Cumbria, painting with a group in the Derwent Water area. And a highlight for her has been on an amazing painting trip on a working boat to the Arctic Circle.
She has illustrated a children’s book, had work accepted by the Royal Academy and exhibited at Woburn Abbey! Oh, and in her spare time she has been restoring highly intricate painted ceilings in Abruzzo Italy.
Chris delights in the interplay of light and reflections as seen by her continued interest in the theme of wet London. She gets great pleasure from battling outside with her local river environment, which provides constantly changing opportunities for work.
Water, Water, Everywhere will be hosted at the museum from Wednesday (August 2) through to August 30.
