Meet the man and learn about his creativity...
What are the mediums you work in?
Clay, Ceramics
What fuels your creativity?
Nature, mountains, the forest, their colours and textures
The piece of work you have produced that you are most proud of, and why?
The turquoise with brown accents teapot (shown in the attached photo), which it is inspired by Japanese pottery and colours found in the Roraima mount (Venezuela). I am proud of it as it was the first of my pieces that came out of the kiln with the same shape and finish that I envisioned when I was making it
Did you choose art, or did art choose you?
Art certainly chose me, when I was about 12 walking on my own at a craft market in Merida, Venezuela (A new city my family and I had just moved in to), I was astounded by the ceramic creation of the local makers and artists and started asking how to get clay and it was 'love at first touch'
If you could invite three artists, living or dead, to create a masterpiece with, who would you choose and why?
I never thought about this before, but I may invite Michelangelo for his incredible aesthetics and precision when reproducing human forms, Rodin for is way of showing emotions and its unique style creating forms and I would also invite my favourite ceramist (Ashraf Hanna) for his incredible eye for perfection and his way of showing elegance and beauty on simple objects
Tell us about your creative ambitions
I have already started creating lamps using porcelain and stoneware ceramics and would like to explore this deeper as well trying to reproduce the texture of rocks and colours in my work in a more realistic way
Where will we be able to see you at work/view your work
Will opening my studio for the Bucks Open Studios from the 10th to the 25th of June, I have also have a set of pieces for the MK50 "Get Making" roadshow that are exhibited at different venous in Milton Keynes until the end of the year (Next ones will be the MK Museum and Central Library)
