A new exhibition opens at Stantonbury Gallery on Monday (Jan 11), giving the visitor a chance to check in with the camera creativity of photographer Michael Flack.
Subject matter isn't the most important part of his work: “My photography is about a way of looking, and a relationship with light...” he says.
“My work covers all sorts of things from street scenes and political protest to the feel of an autumn morning, or quite often just the way the interesting shapes of familiar objects are lit or seen from a particular angle.
“My work plays with the idea that a moment in time can be unpacked, in the imagination, into a world of story.

“I like photographing people in unguarded moments or objects from unusual angles and ranges, in ways that can tell or hint at a bit of backstory.”
“With people especially, there is always more than meets the eye. Sometimes, less – a quick snap, a fraction of a second in the very limited space framed by the viewfinder – is definitely more."
Go through the lens and enjoy the visuals until the end of the month.
Admission is free.
