We've already told you about the quite fabulous Doodle Doll project, a clever slice of creativity dreamed up by MK-based artist Shelly Wyn-de-bank.
The Stripeypants Doodle Dolls are blank canvasses that beg the recipient to get clever and turn them into unique cotton people.
What began as a few dolls distributed to Shelly's immediate family soon snowballed – everyone loved the calmness and the inventiveness - the dolls were in demand. Before too long, those stripeypants dollies were being shipped far and wide – to the US and Canada and all over.
“I've been amazed by the level of engagement and excitement this project has created and the personal stories that these little objects carry for their owners,” Shelly said.
The family of petite figures is now back together again, and figuring in a fantastic exhibition currently open to all at Stantonbury Gallery, which continues to Sunday (Nov 1).
This Saturday (Oct 31), as part of the world's biggest drawing festival – cunningly titled The Big Draw – Shelly will be holding a workshop at Stantonbury for children to let their imaginations run wild and doodle their own doll.
The hourlong workshop will begin at 1pm and spaces are limited. Call 01908 324466 to book spaces.
