DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL: TesseracT promise fans 'an all encompassing experience'

TesseracT are back with a new studio album, Sonder, released last month, and the quintet behind an unstoppable force of off-kilter riffs, soaring melodies and disorientating atmospherics, took it straight to the masses with a North American tour.

The band wrap up the Stateside stint this week, with a show at New York's Irving Plaza.

The good news for fans on this side of the pond is that the boys will be headlining the Dogtooth stage at next month's Download Festival at Donington Park.

It's familiar TesseracT territory, and the can't wait to return, as guitarist James Monteith told Total MK...

How special is it to be returning to Download - the British home of rock and metal?

It’s amazing. I’ve been going to Download, well Donnington, since 1995, so it’s amazing to be heading back to headline the dogtooth stage.

What can the Download faithful expect from your set?

We’re planning on pulling out all the stops with this show.. as we’re closing a tent we’re going to put on the best show we possibly can. Expect songs from the new album plus a selection from our back catalogue.. and some mesmorising visuals to make it an all encompassing experience.

How will you spend the rest of your time on the site?

Enjoying the festival and catching up with friends. I’ll also have my family with me too, it’ll be my kids’ first download to that’ll be fun

Anyone else on the bill you'll be keen to check out?

I’m going to be watching – Plini, Sleep Token, CKY, Helpless with the main event being Guns n Roses on the Saturday night.

What three festival essentials should Download ticket-holders be sure to pack before heading to the site?

A waterproof jacket, enough money for beer.. and extra money because you will always need more beer.

And festivals aside, what's going on with TesseracT for the rest of the year?

We’re touring the USA and Canada in the Spring, and then Australia and Europe in the Autumn. Come see us if you can!
