Kids are getting their first taste of live heavy metal music at My First Metal Gig - a daytime music event planned by kids’ heavy metal band Slay Duggee and Milton Keynes heavy metal venue The Craufurd Arms.
This event was conceived to give kids their first full heavy metal gig experience. Live heavy metal (from Slay Duggee), heavy metal face painting, and a temporary tattoo bar. Kids will learn all about the instruments used live on stage, and get to know the difference between headbanging, pogoing and moshing. And there’s even going to be an indoor bouncy castle.
Tickets for the event on August 10 completely sold out within six hours, so there is obviously a demand for live music for kids. The Craufurd Arms will be at full capacity with future metalheads.
The Craufurd Arms have a strong focus on nurturing the love of music and encouraging people to experience it live at the earliest opportunity. They support the next generation of fans and musicians by running rock schools and putting on new young bands.
Slay Duggee are a heavy metal band for kids from Essex. Four dogs that play hardcore and metal versions of classic children’s songs, and popular hits. Videos for their heavy metal versions of Baby Shark and Stick (from CBeebies show Hey Duggee) have racked up over 25 million views in the past year, and given thousands of kids all over the world their first taste of head banging. Slay Duggee promise to deliver an unforgettable high energy metal show to the children of Milton Keynes.
“It’s essential that children receive the correct musical education. Heavy metal is ideal for children: shouting, dressing up, and jumping around being noisy. This is going to be the wildest metal party The Craufurd Arms has ever seen” said Slay Duggee's Black Shuck.
In light of the succes of this inaugural event, he also promised the band would return soon.
"We definitely plan to return to MK and The Craufurd Arms as soon as possible," he told Total MK.
"There were so many disappointed fans when this gig sold out in six hours. How can we deprive the kids of their metal! All shall get the chance to raise their horns and bang their heads."
