Jack Carty and Maz O’Connor to play Milton Keynes Stables date this week

Award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Jack Carty and Maz O’Connor will play The Stables this week.

Jack will be accompanied by former Papa vs. Pretty bassist Gus Gardiner on cello, as they perform new tracks from their highly anticipated collaborative album Hospital Hill, slated for release on June 1st 2018.

Talking about the new tour Jack states that “many of the songs on ‘Hospital Hill’ were born on tour here in the UK, before I made the big move over. It’s exciting to be touring it here in my new home before we head anywhere else!”

It's been a busy year-and-a-half for Jack Carty following the independent release of his fourth studio album Home State in August 2016.

Self-recorded and produced by Carty in a tiny Brisbane apartment, it debuted at No.1 on the AIR Independent album chart and was named one of Rhythms Magazine's Top 10 albums of 2016.

Hospital Hill is a ten-song collection, co-written and produced by Jack & Gus.

It is a reflection of their individual and combined skills, magnified throughout by a stellar string quartet that includes members of the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Thematically, Hospital Hill explores the pull of nostalgia, the weight of time and the release of gratitude, delivered with the trademark honesty that has won Carty a dedicated following from Hobart to Hamburg.

Since his days as a founding member of ARIA Award-nominated rock band Papa vs Pretty from 2008-2014, Gus Gardiner has worked as a side-man onstage and in the studio for many of Australia's best loved up-and-coming singer-songwriters including Troye Sivan, Montaigne, Jarryd James &EAST.
