Internationally renowned jazz & blues guitarist Remi Harris will start his 2020 tour at The Stables in Milton Keynes on Thursday 30th January, where he will be unveiling his new show Light & Shade.
The show is one of several new projects that Remi will be presenting at over 40 theatres and music venues up and down the country throughout the year.
Light & Shade is Remi’s most diverse and eclectic show to date. It features music ranging from the acoustic jazz, swing and gypsy jazz of the 30s and 40s to the psychedelic rock and blues of the 60s and 70s.
Featuring Remi on a variety of acoustic guitars, electric guitars and a ukulele; accompanied by double and electric bass, drum kit and percussion.
Remi said: “I grew up playing rock and blues music and in my late teens/early twenties I started to get interested in jazz. Since then I’ve been dreaming about bringing the two influences together into one project. I’m really excited that we now have the opportunity to make this happen.”
Remi’s music has reached new audiences and he continues to gain recognition for his virtuoso talent, with the recent honour of his first signature model from Fylde guitars. This further cements Remi’s reputation as a leading guitarist in his field.
In his career to date, Remi has performed at Montreal Jazz Festival, Buckingham Palace, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jamie Cullum, on BBC 4 Television and live on BBC Radio 2 & 3.
From the day Remi was born his mother of French origin chose the name Remi, inspired by the musical scale DO-RE-MI.
His first album is called ‘Ninick’ in memory of his mother. Primarily self taught with the help of his Dad's guitar magazines and records, Remi started playing at the age of 7, initially inspired by rock and blues guitarists of the 60s and 70s such as Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green and Jimmy Page.
In his late teens he developed an interest in jazz music, in particular artists such as Django Reinhardt, Wes Montgomery and Stan Getz. Since then he has an increasing following on YouTube and social media around the world and a growing reputation for blending all of his influences into his own individual style of playing.
