SMUGGLERS ARE ON THE RISE IN BEDFORD

CC Smugglers are back on local soil next week, when their current UK tour stops off in Bedford. Over the past 18 months the band has hit the festival circuit hard, including a slot at the 'biggie' Glastonbury.

BBC 2 legend 'whispering' Bob Harris is among their fiercely supportive, flourishing fanbase, and their decidedly lively shows have served them well, putting them heads and shoulders above any opposition.

The band have recently completed their debut album, an infectious stew of gypsy jazz, blues, folk, country and roots.

Sounds tasty, right?

You can hear it for yourselves in the live when the Shefford boys play at Esquires.

Last year's set at the venue was a sell-out, and there's every reason to expect a repeat when they return next Saturday (March 5).

The Dreaming Spires are special guests at the bash. Remember Goldrush?

This is the Oxford-based band that rose up from their ashes.

Charlotte Carpenter will kick-start the evening.

She has four self-released EPs under her musical belt, has recently toured with Marika Hackman and stage-shared with plenty more, including George Ezra.

Tickets are £8 in advance through www.wegotickets.com and doors open at 8pm.
