Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Milton Keynes.
At around 12.45pm on Wednesday 15 July, the victim, a man in his twenties, was walking with two others in Daniels Welch, Coffee Hall when they were approached by a group of between eight and 12 men wearing face coverings and armed with weapons, thought to be machetes or swords.
Four of the men chased the victim towards Robins Hill where he was assaulted, resulting in lacerations to the top of his head and legs.
His injuries required hospital treatment at the Milton Keynes University Hospital.
The offenders are all described as young black men, wearing dark clothing and face coverings.
