Uli Jon Roth is a pioneer, a visionary, and explorer who has put his 50-year career in the service of art and music. He is one of the most mentioned and most influential rock guitarists of modern times - and he is coming to Milton Keynes.
Uli found fame as lead guitarist with The Scorpions while he was still a teenager, and during his five-year tenure with Germany’s most famous band, he developed a unique and revolutionary approach to guitar playing, incorporating classical music and advanced improvisational techniques. He went on to form his own band, Electric Sun and continued to push the boundaries of guitar playing with his innovative use of the six-octave Sky Guitar that he invented.
Uli is mainly known for his ground-breaking contributions to the vocabulary of electric guitar playing. He is regarded as one of the last living protagonists of pure, classic melodic rock guitar from the era of the Sixties and Seventies. Uli is now widely acknowledged as belonging to a rapidly dwindling handful of notable players who are still active and who can still transport the magical aura of that glorious era of rock in live concerts on the stages of this world.
Over the years, Uli has influenced generations of younger guitarists – including many name players such as Eddie van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Billy Corgan, and Kirk Hammett – and he is seen as one of the great innovators in his genre.

Uli revolutionized the scope of expression of his favorite instrument by being the first to introduce sophisticated virtuoso violin techniques and many other new ideas into the guitar vocabulary.
He is also a prolific composer who has written and performed symphonic music with orchestras, and has also released several important solo albums throughout his career, featuring a diverse range of musical styles. He continues to tour the world and record, inspiring generations of musicians with his unparalleled creativity and passion for music.
2023 has been a very special year in the career of Uli - with a series of releases and live shows. Five seminal Scorpions albums Uli was a part of have been reissued, reinforcing the monumental legacy and trailblazing worldwide impact his tenure in that band exerted.
And he is seeing out the year with a nine date tour of the UK, which will draw to an end with a show at The Craufurd Arms in Wolverton on Wednesday, November 29.
“I am really looking forward to playing the UK again after such a long time!" Uli said, "It feels great to see that all of my previous releases will now become available again for my existing fans and a whole new generation of audience which we see emerging.”
