Ross Noble is back in the Keynes on Sunday night (Feb 5) as he nears the latter stages of his Brain Dump tour, that has seen him on the road since September.
He’ll have no doubt seen the insides of many a service station these past few months, but he’s used to the drill, with this being his 15th tour.
We saw the Geordie funnyman at play the best part of two decades ago in Shenley and he was a blast then. And you only get better with age, so this master of surreal tangents will be unstoppable when he hits the Milton Keynes Theatre stage.
And what of that show title?
“I got it from a customer review on Amazon for one of my DVDs. They wrote, ‘This is just like a massive brain dump,’ and I thought: Oh yeah, that's exactly what my stuff is! I'll have that.’
With the ‘brain dumps’ still largely improvised, does it feel risky?
“No, the ‘risk’ is all relative," Ross says, "It’s like driving a car; after 25 years you don't get in a car and go, "What if this goes wrong?" If you hit a few bumps in the road you just think: Oh, this is fun, let's bounce around for a bit!”
