One of the hottest musical acts of the moment, Ezra Furman, will be playing Bedford Esquires on Monday (July 13).
The Chicago born singer-songwriter is still relatively unknown in the USA but is currently earning legions of devoted fans in the United Kingdom due to his brilliant live shows.
Ezra and his backing band, The Boyfriends, first rose to prominence when they completely stole the show at last years End of the Road music festival.
They subsequently performed live on Jools Holland's 'Later' TV show and the Guardian was moved to describe them as 'the most compelling live act you can see right now'.
BBC Radio have been championing the singles 'Restless Year' and 'Lousy Connection' from his album new album 'Perpetual Motion People'.
Ezra cites The Velvet Underground and the songwriting of Lou Reed as key influences, but live he is a wonderfully unique and compelling performer, combining American doo-wop, indie rock anthems and riotous saxophone solos.
The promoters at Bedford Esquires have been desperate for them to play the town and describe his show as 'like the band from the best prom or wedding you could ever imagine'.
The band are due to play the 2500 capacity Shepherds Bush Empire in London in October, so this it likely to be last chance to catch them in a small venue.
Tickets are £10 in advance, available from www.seetickets.com or direct from the venue.
