You could venture to Brighton or Camden in search of unique items, rare novelties or one-off creations, but you'd be pretty silly to do so, says Sammy Jones.
MK Handmade & Vintage takes all the same goodness you'd find by traipsing around the stalls and markets there, and compiles it under one roof here in the city.
Why travel when the best in vintage, retro and handcrafted bargains is coming direct to your doorstep?
You've not long to wait, either - the event returns to Milddleton Hall in thecentre:mk on June 10 & 11.
The treasure trove of 128 indoor market stalls is crammed full of the unique and unusual, and with absolutely no retail items allowed, this is the perfect alternative to high street shopping.
Among the goodies this time, you'll find weird and wonderful interior design pieces fresh from the brocants of Europe, restored jukeboxes and record players (always a hit with Total MK), unusual jewellers, dressmakers, milliners, our own tailor, original art, collectable handmade bears, quirky upcycled lamps, natural luxury skincare, music and car memorabilia, unusual tiles/coasters, personalised gifts (embroidered while you wait), vintage fabrics, collectables, antiques, furniture, glass, china, fossils, handmade clocks, and much more.
Customers are very welcome to commission something bespoke too, the traders are always happy to discuss ideas and take orders.
With so much to see and search for, bellies can sometimes start rumbling, but organisers have taken care of that too, with scrummy cakes, brownies and pickles to keep hunger pangs at bay!
Entry is free, but prepare to shop 'til you drop during usual shopping hours.
