International Women's Day is celebrated on Sunday (March 8), but Milton Keynes City Orchestra can't wait to mark the occasion - they get busy on Saturday (March 7) with a special concert at The Venue Theatre.
An all-female orchestra has been assembled for the performance, and the feminine side isn't about to be compromised by the baton holder.
Sian Edwards - Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music - is returning to Milton Keynes for the event at Walton High.
Anita Watson is your guest soloist, performing three arias from The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart.
So far as the rest of the programme is concerned, prepare for pieces by Wagner and Schubert.
We have it on good authority that there will be a few surprises at this special event in addition to the pretty perfect programme already mentioned.
Tickets are on sale at £22 and £10. Showtime is 7.30pm.
