STONY LIVE!: SATURDAY, JUNE 14 IN PREVIEW
It is the final weekend of Stony Live! and the festival is going out with a bang, not a whimper.
Here's today's programme for you....
Saturday June 14
Hold fire on the music for a while – get to the root of things instead at the Allotments Open Day.
The London Road site invites you in for a wander to catch up with Stony's fruit and vegetable growers and their plots.
Plants, seeds and 'bits and pieces' will be for sale, and if you've got a burning question about your beans or are puzzled by your potatoes, so to speak, the allotment aces will probably have the answer
> London Road, midday-4pm, free
The Music Makers of Milton Keynes will be in union with a couple of vocal sessions for you today, but you don't need to be a bystander – sing along with them if you fancy it. It is encouraged, but not essential
> Odells Yard, midday-1pm, 3-4pm, free
High energy bluegrass with dazzling musicianship and 'high and lonesome sound' vocals will rule when the Hole in the Head Gang (top), step forward....35 years since they first made music together
> Fox & Hounds, 1-3pm, free
Family enjoyment is promised at the annual Riverside Fair, with plenty of stalls, entertainment and refreshments. If the sun shines, pack a picnic and soak up the fun.
> The Millfield, 1-4pm, free
Stories aren't just for children, you know, a point set to be proved by The Crown of Feathers & Fins who will be blending tale-telling, music and interaction. Open mic slots will be available
> York House Centre, 7.30-10pm, £5
The Pipe Shop Boyz will encourage your involvement when they play table-thumping sing-a-longs like Wild Rover and Whisky in the Jar
> Upstairs at The Crown, 8.30-11pm, free
The Bearcat Blues Band will deliver the music of the blues legends, 'from New Orleans to Chicago via Clarksdale Mississippi and Memphis, swinging rhythm & blues, juke-joint barrelhouse blues and foot-tappin' boogie woogie'
> Fox & Hounds, 9-11.30pm, free
Covers from the last six decades will roll with Rufus Stone...will you sing-a-long with them?
> Olde George, 9-midnight, free
